SendUp Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the SendUp website and the SendUp browser extension handle data when you upload files, generate share links, and use optional security features.
What the extension does
The SendUp extension lets you select a file, upload it to SendUp storage, create a share link, optionally protect that link with a password, and copy the resulting link from the browser toolbar.
Data you choose to provide
- Files you explicitly select for upload
- Optional password values you enter to protect a share link
- Optional expiry selection you choose for a share link
How data is used
- Selected files are uploaded only after you click the upload button
- File metadata such as filename, size, MIME type, and upload IP may be processed to create and manage the share link
- If you set a password, it is hashed before storage and used only for link protection
- The extension stores a small recent-link history locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage
What the extension stores locally
The extension stores recent SendUp links, file names, and timestamps locally in your browser so you can quickly reopen or copy recent links. You can clear this history at any time from the extension popup.
What the extension does not do
- It does not read your browsing history
- It does not track the content of tabs or websites you visit
- It does not sell personal information
Third-party infrastructure
Uploaded files may be stored using cloud object storage infrastructure configured by SendUp. This is used only to provide file upload and sharing functionality.
Data retention
Shared files and related records may be deleted automatically after the expiry period you choose, subject to system maintenance, abuse prevention, and operational requirements.
